About Us
The Hazel Ave PTA is a team of passionate volunteers who work to improve our school, enrich our students’ experience, support our teachers, and build community. Here are some ways we make a difference:
Membership: We maintain and grow our PTA membership and organize parent volunteers. We represent the collective voice of Hazel parents to have a say in our children’s education and support our Hazel teachers!
Fundraisers: We organize various fundraisers (i.e. book fair, walk-a-thon, bake sales, etc) to raise money for classroom supplies, school beautification, community events, essential school programs and activities, and so much more.
Enrichment: We sponsor field trips, school assemblies, after-school clubs, teacher activities, and more to support our student growth and inclusive programs.
Community Building: We work with our community of parents, teachers, and students to foster a strong school culture through community and family events!

Sarah Fischler
This is my 5th year in the Hazel PTA and I’m honored to serve as president! I have 2 daughters at Hazel (2nd & 4th). We moved to WO in 2014 and fell in love with our small neighborhood in a vibrant, larger community of wonderful people. You'll find me at dismissal with my Pre-K son - come say hi! I’m looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible to hear your thoughts, help you join a committee, and find your place in our amazing PTA.

I’m a mom of 3 girls, one in her 2nd year of college, a 5th grader at Hazel, and a busy 2-year-old! By day, I work in HR, where I spend a lot of time bringing people together, solving problems, planning, and helping teams thrive - all skills I’m excited to bring to my role as PTA VP. I’m excited to create fun events & meaningful activities that help our students, families, and staff feel connected and supported.

So excited for a new school year! My son is a first grader here at Hazel and I have a toddler as well. I help manage PTA comms including our emails, flyers, website, and social media to keep everyone up-to-date on the latest and greatest PTA happenings. Can’t wait to meet everyone and bring our Hazel community together!

I’m excited to be your new PTA Recording Secretary. My background is in marketing, operations, and HR, so basically I’ve spent my career in meetings — turns out I’ve been training for this. I have a daughter in first grade and my motto this year is simple: notes or it didn’t happen, and I’ve got the receipts.

Hi! I am the parent of Ronald (a rising 5th grader) and Sadie (7th grade)! I am also a wife and a reading specialist. I am the 5th grade chairperson but trust me I am not doing this job alone! I have an amazing support team of parents. I am here if any 5th grade parent needs help, has questions, or wants to join our PTA. I look forward to working with all of you!
